As a partner of the Lorenzo Natali Prize 2011, Media Foundation (MF), would like to annouce this great opportunity for Nepali journalists to apply for the award.

No Nepali journalist has won the Lorenzo Natali Journalism Prize (NLJP). Here is a chance to win. Deadline to apply is August 31, 2011. MF would like to encourage all our journalists to cosider applying. Please forward this to as many media professionals and organizations as possible. Thank you!

Full details Lorenzo Natali Prize 2011
The certificate supports journalists covering development, democracy and human rights issues around the world.  Prize money overall amounts to 60,000 Euros.

Organised by the European Commission in partnership with Reporters Without Borders, the Lorenzo Natali Journalism Prize celebrates journalists tackling development, democracy and human rights issues and recognises the importance of their work to the successful establishment and protection of the universal values of respect of human rights and democracy.

The deadline for submissions to the 2011 Edition of the Prize is 31 August 2011 – just four weeks away.

An overall grand prize, a special television prize and a special radio prize are awarded alongside three prizes for print and online journalists in each of five regions.

Africa / The Middle East and North Africa / Asia and the Pacific / Europe / Latin America and the Caribbean

Calling all journalists –  just 29 days left to apply

Every year, the Lorenzo Natali Journalism Prize recognises outstanding contributions by journalists from across the globe reporting on development, democracy, human rights and other related issues.

The deadline for submissions to the 2011 edition is 31 August 2011. Make sure that your work, which is crucial to the successful establishment and protection of the universal values of respect of human rights and democracy, is recognised.

Overall award: 60 000 Euros

3 awards for Asian print and online journalists:
1st prize 5000 Euros / 2nd prize 2 500 Euros / 3rd prize 1 500 Euros

Overall awards:

Grand Prize 5 000 Euros / Special Television Prize 5 000 Euros / Special Radio Prize 5 000 Euros

Eligible submissions:

Print and online articles, and television and radio reports, on development, democracy, human rights and other related issues first published or broadcast between 1 July 2010 and 31 August 2011.
